WFC's Benefit Party Re-Cap
An Evening Under the Stars:
The Waterfront Center’s Annual Benefit Party
A beautiful day on Saturday turned into the perfect evening for the WFC’s annual Benefit Party, held at the home of Jamie and David Demings. With the setting sun over the harbor as a picturesque backdrop to the soirée, it was sure to be a success! The party drew a large crowd of supporters and clients of the center, who made generous contributions via both a silent auction and a live auction (executed marvelously by Treasurer of the WFC Larry Schmidlapp). Commodore of the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club William R. Denslow, Jr. made a surprise donation to the Waterfront Center: 12 full sets of Sonar sails. The unexpected and charitable gift was a highlight of the evening, and got the night off to a roaring start! As guests bid on prizes such as tickets to a Mets game, a house on Block Island, and a weekend on a chartered yacht, it was clear that everyone was enjoying themselves despite the fierce competition! Overall, it was a wonderful evening that proved what a strong community of supporters the Waterfront Center has established over the years, and succeeded in further promoting the mission of the organization.
