High School Sailing - Halloween Regatta!
BOO!
We celebrated Halloween a little bit early this year and hosted our annual Halloween Green Regatta for all of our High School Sailors starting out in racing. It was a near perfect day with plenty of sunshine, warm water and a lot of sailors! Unfortunately the wind didn't fully cooperate for the entire event, but none the less the sailors had a blast!
The day was filled with lots of practice starts, roll tacks, balancing the boats on their windward rails going down wind and lots of coaching around the race course. We were able to get off six races of varied lengths and types mainly running windward leewards 1x around. Everyone was having so much fun, we nearly forgot to eat lunch and instead of coming inside for a quick break everyone ate out on the water. I think everyone will be glad to find out that no candy was lost overboard during the regatta! And in the spirit of Halloween everyone got a pumpkin and a goodie bag to take home.
